Did you get to enjoy the “snow day” last week, when parts of Texas experienced anywhere from 1 to 7 inches of the white stuff? Well, if that left you hankering for even more snow, make plans to head to Johnson City on Saturday, January 20 to partake in the Science Mill’s Snow Day event.
20 Tons of Snow!
Join the fun as the backyard at The Science Mill (called the Science & Art Park) is transformed into a winter wonderland of science with 20 tons of snow! Launch snowballs with the giant catapult, throw a snowball and track it with radar, watch a real-life ice sculptor or race a mini pine box derby car down a huge ice luge – there’s fun for all ages at this event.
Food vendors will be on hand to provide much-needed snacks. Or, plan to eat at the on-site Lady Bird Lane Cafe, which is a small farm-to-table restaurant dedicated to offering lunches using local and regional ingredients. They focus on organic and all-natural products in their creative menu that offers options to fit most dietary needs with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes.
